Developer Advocate (Social & Technical Communities)
- Marketing
- New York
- Full-time
Description
Qodo is hiring an Developer Advocate to be the voice of Qodo across social channels and technical forums. You’ll translate real engineering problems into approachable posts, threads, demos, and answers, meeting developers where they already hang out (Twitter/X, LinkedIn, GitHub, Stack Overflow, Reddit, Slack/Discord communities, etc.). Ideal for an ex-engineer or developer who loves writing, creating, and community.
What You’ll Do
- Create & publish content: short posts/threads, quick demos, code snippets, how-tos, and entertaining memes highlight practical AI code review workflows
- Engage daily on Twitter/X, LinkedIn, Reddit, Stack Overflow, Hacker News, community Slack/Discord; answer questions, share tips, and route feedback to the product team
- Show, don’t tell: build tiny repos, gists, and PRs that demonstrate Qodo in IDE and Git; record lightweight Looms or screenshares
- Promote programs and campaigns: support devrel and marketing programs; facilitate office hours, AMAs, code review challenges, and other virtual activities
- Partner with PMM & Product: turn new features into snackable content; draft FAQs and “getting started” guides
- Measure & learn: track content performance, forum response times, and community sentiment; propose experiments and creative ideas
- Moderate & nurture community spaces; keep discussions going and escalate issues
Requirements
- 2+ years as a software engineer, SRE, or similar technical role, or 1–2 years in DevRel/content with credible coding samples
- Comfortable writing clear code and clear prose (posts, docs, short videos)
- Active presence on one or more mainstream social channels
- Familiarity with Git/GitHub PRs, CI, basic testing, and modern dev workflows
- Empathy for developers; you enjoy helping people learn, connect and unblock
Nice to Have
- Experience with AI/dev tools (LLMs, embeddings, RAG), code quality tools
- Hosting streams, podcasts, or running community programs
- Basic video editing (CapCut, ScreenFlow) and graphics (Figma/Canva)
How We’ll Measure Success
- Content cadence: 5-8 high-quality posts/threads per week; 2+ hands-on videos or demos/month
- Engagement & reach: growth in followers and meaningful replies from target dev and engineering segments
- Community impact: faster answer times in forums; accepted answers/solutions; contributor satisfaction
- Product feedback loop: number of actionable insights routed to Product; improvements to docs/onboarding
- Pipeline influence (assist): demo signups or trials attributed to content/communities
Tools You’ll Use
Git/GitHub, VS Code/JetBrains, Loom, Figma/Canva, Notion, Discourse/Slack/Discord (not exhaustive)
