Description

About Firebolt

Firebolt is the Cloud Data Warehouse purpose-built for the speed, scale, and flexibility of data & AI applications. Our platform delivers ultra-low latency, high concurrency, and multi-dimensional elasticity, empowering data and AI teams to build data-intensive products that perform at scale. Backed by over $270M in VC funding, a world-class GTM and Engineering team, and an ambitious vision, Firebolt is leading the transformation of AI data infrastructure.

About the role

We’re looking for a Technical Project Manager who loves structure, clarity, and automation. You’ll play a central role in how our engineering organization operates, designing and running the processes that keep us efficient, transparent, and focused.

We want someone who thinks in systems, thrives on solving coordination challenges, and can use coding to replace repetitive manual work with smart, scalable automation.

This is an ideal opportunity for a junior to mid-level individual with strong organizational instincts, technical fluency, and a passion for driving operational excellence within an engineering team.

What You’ll Do

  • Design and manage processes for field and engineering collaboration: define how we track and prioritize blockers from the field to engineering.
  • Own engineering work tracking: design lightweight systems that provide visibility into project delivery, work in progress, and risk areas.
  • Manage the Firebolt release process, including: automating release notes and rollout tracking, managing pre-release testing coordination and signoffs, tracking and resolving release blockers.
  • Implement automation wherever possible: use Python or workflow tools to eliminate manual tasks and streamline reporting.
  • Drive process discipline and clarity: ensure teams operate with consistent structure, documentation, and accountability.
  • Partner with engineering leadership to refine planning, prioritization, and communication rhythms.

Requirements

  • A structured, process-oriented mindset: you like turning chaos into clarity.
  • Programming skills (Python preferred) and a curiosity for automation. The more of our internal processes we automate, the better we run as a company.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills: you can bridge between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Comfort using and improving tools like Jira, Notion, Linear, or similar systems for project tracking.
  • A bias toward continuous improvement: you’re always looking for ways to make processes leaner, faster, and clearer.
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience (or demonstrated capability through projects, internships, or self-driven learning).

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with software development lifecycles, release management, or DevOps workflows.
  • Experience with data visualization or scripting for reporting (e.g., Python, SQL, or Airtable automations).
