We’re rethinking the entire personal photo/video experience from the ground up. Current photo systems (Google/Apple) encourage piling up photos and videos — most of us spend more time taking photos than looking at them.

Role
As founding designer, you’ll represent design and design thinking across the company, advocating for users in every step. We’re a small company and you’ll have a varying set of responsibilities especially as we grow.
At the outset, your focus will be on individual contributions, encompassing:
Interaction Design. This will be your bread and butter — you’ll take the user inputs, their problems, the opportunities and the solutions in order to create simple and delightful interactions to address their needs.
Discovery/Research. We delight in talking to our users weekly. You’ll lead our discovery practices by creating discussion guides, prioritizing opportunities, synthesizing inputs, and galvanizing the team to participate in the discovery process. You don’t have to have a lot of experience in this field, but you must have a lot of enthusiasm for talking to users 
Product Involvement. You will be expected to not just execute on interactions and mocks, but think deeply about the user problems and motivations, prioritize the opportunities and solutions and help build the product roadmap.
Visual Design. While we have a contractor for high-fidelity mocks, you'll guide this work and develop a robust design system for future use.
Beyond the IC responsibilities, you’ll also be part of the leadership team. In this capacity, you will represent design strategically, and hire and grow the team as the company scales. As the company grows, we expect the leadership duties to take more and more of your time, and eventually you phasing out IC work altogether.
Requirements (minimum)
Bachelor's degree in Design (e.g., interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial, etc.), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), or equivalent practical experience.
Two years experience designing mobile apps, represented in a portfolio showing experience
Obsession with pixels and human behavior
Proficiency with Figma
Requirements (nice-to-have)
Enthusiasm around photos and videos
People management experience
A strong sense of visual aesthetic
Interest in behavioral psychology and habit forming products
Game design background
