About the role:

You will play a pivotal role in our deep analytics group that is instrumental in building our core single-cell representation models and applying them to preclinical and clinical data sets. You will mentor and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of machine learning engineers, computational biologists, and immunologists. You will work closely with our preclinical lab team to guide experimental design, apply and pressure test our internal models and guide their development to extract actionable insights from preclinical model systems that will translate to the clinic.

Location: New York, NY (Hybrid position, must be based in New York City)

Reporting to: Computational Biology Team Lead, Deep Analytics

What will you do?

  • Research, develop, and apply state-of-the-art computational methods to preclinical and clinical single-cell data, which includes large volumes of in-house generated data
  • Contextualize preclinical datasets within our knowledge base of clinical data sets to provide actionable recommendations to collaborators
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across software engineering, computational biology, immunology and wet lab experimentalists to maximize the impact of your research
  • Mentor and provide technical guidance to team members

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Proven track-record in single cell genomics is a must, experience in immunology is a plus
  • Ph.D. in computer science, bioengineering, computational biology, or related discipline, ideally with 2 - 5 years of relevant postdoc or industry experience
  • Experienced in working in a hybrid wet/dry environment or closely collaborating with experimentalists
  • Demonstrated experience with interpreting large amounts of biological data, ideally through custom deep learning models that solve biological problems
  • Strong coding & technical abilities in Python or R
  • Evidence of engagement with open source projects and community
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Compensation: This position offers a base salary typically between $120,000 - $170,000. There is an opportunity to consider higher compensation above this range based on business need, candidate experience, and or skills.
