About the role:

The Biorepository Specialist oversees sample management operations, ensuring biospecimen handling, cold storage, and shipment procedures adhere strictly to SOPs and Chain of Custody documentation. This role is responsible for administering the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), including schema and template management, while performing routine lab maintenance and providing after-hours emergency support.

Location: New York, NY (on-site role)

What will you do?

• Oversee end-to-end sample management operations, including receiving, inspecting, accessioning, retrieving, packaging, distributing, archiving, and disposition of biospecimens.
• Partner with Quality administration to maintain strict compliance with SOPs and Chain of Custody documentation; author and edit SOPs as needed.
• Assist maintenance of the Electronic Lab Notebook (ELN), managing schemas, templates, dashboards, and system configurations. Perform maintenance functions and interface with users across the company.
• Maintain, monitor, and manage inventories for cold storage units, including liquid nitrogen (LN2) and -80°C freezers.
• Provide on-call emergency support for after-hours equipment or biorepository alerts.
• Perform light laboratory maintenance, including restocking biorepository supplies, and other duties as assigned by the Operations Team.

Required qualifications:

• BS/BA in a biological science-related discipline, with 2-5 years of industry experience.
• Established, proven knowledge of good laboratory practice techniques, general safety controls and equipment procedures, universal precautions in biospecimen handling, and blood-borne pathogen training.
• Experience in laboratory sample asset and inventory management using LIMS or an ELN.
• Must be detail oriented, with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
• Commitment to operational excellence.
• Knowledge of SQL is desired.
• Experience within a regulated (cGLP) environment is a plus.

Compensation: This position offers a base salary typically between $85,000 - $100,000. There is an opportunity to consider higher compensation above this range based on business need, candidate experience, and or skills.
