We are seeking a dedicated and driven person to join our Workers Comp Premium Audit team. As a team member, you will review customer financial documents to determine audit exposure, follow audit guidelines, and apply state-specific standards. You will be responsible for the accurate and timely determination of earned premium by proper classification and measurement of insurance risk exposures for the policy period. The Auditor maintains a high level of communication with our policyholders and internal staff on conditions which may affect the coverage and premium of policyholders and the exposure of Next. The Auditor helps minimize our clients’ stress and deliver fast and efficient service while upholding Next’s phenomenal customer service. What You’ll Do:

  • Performs analysis of insured’s business operation(s) to determine appropriate classifications and exposures to classify and complete 'virtual' audits.
  • Provide outstanding customer service by answering all customer questions and concerns through the audit process via phone and email channels
  • Interprets and applies legislative and manual rulings which affect premium basis and policy coverage.
  • Assignments include those risks which are more difficult/sensitive and more technically demanding to service.
  • Performs fiscal audit of insured’s accounting records and related documentation in order to determine proper premium basis.
  • Performs audit of claims filed during policy period in order to verify claimant’s employment and wage level at time of injury and proper classification of the claim(s).
  • Acts as a liaison between policyholder and the appropriate Next departments, and maintains a high level of communication with all.
  • Has proficient skills in the use of various computer applications including spreadsheets and communicating results of risk analysis to appropriate departments, partner agents (if applicable) and policy holders.
  • May be called upon to testify in court regarding audit findings.
  • Assists manager in training of department personnel and audit review
  • Undertakes special projects and assignments as requested, and performs other job related duties as assigned by Management.
  • Prepares and submits accurate and timely reports, adhering to Next corporate policy and conforming with applicable agency and bureau regulations and standards.
  • Exercise sound judgment, critical thinking, and decision making skills to determine appropriate actions based on audit findings

What We Need:

  • At least 3 years of Workers Compensation Premium Audit experience
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to conduct independent research and analysis
  • Superior analytical skills

Unstoppable Qualities:

  • APA certification (Associate in Premium Auditing)
  • Bilingual (Spanish speaking)
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire hourly rates for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including, without limitation, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. NEXT employees are eligible to participate in our equity incentive program and will also receive our benefits package, consisting of our partially subsidized medical plan, fully subsidized vision/dental options, life insurance, disability insurance, 401(k), flexible paid time off, parental leave and more. Overtime pay for hourly workers as required by law.
US hourly range for this full-time position:
$30$37 USD
