Every company’s software standards, platform, and developers are unique and Port enables platform engineers to unify and present all of the tools in their platform, so developers can work efficiently with clear guidance along the golden paths established collaboratively with stakeholders like security, SREs, and management. From onboarding a new developer to setting up a microservice; performing day-2 operations to monitoring DORA and engineering metrics across the organization, Port is the only developer portal with the total flexibility to handle all our customers’ unique platforms and standards, without the cost and complexity of building from scratch.
As Port continues its impressive ascent, we are looking for a Technical Product Marketer who will take our many innovative existing use cases and integrations - and our ideas for the future - and help our customers see the art of the possible for their businesses.
As part of the product marketing team, you’ll sit at the nexus of our product team, SEs, CSMs, and customers to determine which use cases and architectures are most critical and valuable, and help show the world how Port delivers. You’ll have opportunities to innovate, experiment, and make an impact for our customers, prospects, and partners every day. We’re looking for a unique skill set that combines engineering expertise with the intuition of a seller.
You'll partner with our SEs and CSMs to enable and scale how we demonstrate and deliver repeatable value to our customers. You’ll also work with the product marketing team to translate technical value to business value and enable our sellers, partners, and marketing teams. The ability to articulate technical solutions, educate a market that’s still very much in its formative stages, and assist in navigating technical discussions is indispensable. At the heart of your role is the fusion of impeccable technical knowledge with a keen market and customer awareness, ensuring Port's value is communicated clearly and effectively.
Core Responsibilities
- Build and deliver compelling product narratives in our demonstration environments.
- Create technical content including demo videos, reference designs, and tutorials.
- Configure and manage demo environments across different use cases and personas.
- Partner with Product, Sales, Marketing, Integration Partner, and Engineering teams.
- Develop technical documentation and training materials.
Requirements
- 5+ years as a sales engineer (SE), solution architect, partner solution architect or related fields with focus on demos and storytelling. Experience as a product manager, DevOps or Platform Engineer is great, too.
- Strong technical proficiency to build demo environments and configure products: we integrate with APIs and you’ll need to be comfortable with JSON, YAML and the like.
- Ability to craft narratives that communicate complex technical concepts.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Comfort and desire to present and evangelize in front of internal and external audiences, including webinars, tradeshows, and joint partner sessions.
