Description

At Port, we are pioneering a new dimension of the Developer Experience. Our innovative platform for Internal Developer Portals has been designed with the ultimate aim of enhancing developer satisfaction, increasing productivity, and ensuring the highest standards of engineering output.

Port brings everything a developer needs together, encapsulated within a single user-friendly interface. From comprehending the software development lifecycle, executing tasks, to adhering to the organization's development standards, Port ensures that every aspect of software development is within easy reach for every developer.

As a team, we personify the values that underpin our product: openness, transparency, resourcefulness, community orientation, and kindness. We are on the lookout for like-minded individuals who share our ethos to join us on our exciting journey of revolutionizing the platform engineering sector.

Why we're looking for you:

We're looking for a Director of IT to lead our global IT operations and be a key partner in building Port OS - Port's Operating System. This role owns IT operations across all Port offices (Tel Aviv, US, and remote) while driving IT strategy and standards company-wide.

As Port scales rapidly, we need a leader who can deliver exceptional IT support, seamless onboarding experiences, and reliable technology infrastructure across our global team. You'll lead the IT organization, manage a distributed team, and partner with the CIO to build scalable IT systems that ensure every Port employee—regardless of location—has the technology foundation they need to succeed.

This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who can balance operational excellence with strategic thinking. You'll manage immediate IT needs while building the processes, policies, and tooling that let us scale smoothly. Based in our Tel Aviv headquarters, you'll work closely with engineering, product, and business teams while leading IT operations globally.

What you'll do:

IT Operations & Support Leadership

  • Lead global IT operations across all Port offices (Tel Aviv, US, UK) including helpdesk, onboarding/offboarding, hardware, and infrastructure
  • Manage the IT team ensuring consistent service delivery across timezones
  • Oversee employee technology lifecycle and ensure smooth onboarding/offboarding globally
  • Manage office IT infrastructure including networking, conference rooms, and physical security across all locations
  • Establish IT service commitments (SLAs) and track performance metrics
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships and proactively address technology needs
  • Use data to prioritize automation and plan team capacity
  • Champion "opinionated IT"—helping employees understand the best way to work, not just fixing problems
  • Create training materials, how-to guides, and best practices for productivity tools
  • Build self-service resources to reduce reactive support burden
  • Document IT processes and be the example of "how we help others at Port"
  • Design and implement IT automation for onboarding, access provisioning, and monitoring
  • Build processes that scale as Port grows

Vendor & Compliance

  • Manage vendor relationships for IT services globally (including regional vendors)
  • Oversee IT asset lifecycle and maintain accurate inventory across all locations
  • Ensure all IT operations meet SOC2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP compliance requirements globally
  • Partner with Security team on device security and access controls worldwide

Who you'll work with:

You'll report to the CIO and manage the global IT team. Based in Tel Aviv, you'll partner closely with Security, HR, Facilities, and Finance teams across all Port locations.

Requirements

What we're looking for:

  • 7-10 years of IT operations experience, with 3-4 years in leadership role managing distributed teams
  • Hands-on expertise with Google Workspace, Slack, Jira, Notion, macOS, Linux
  • Experience managing IT for high-growth startups (100-400 employees) with multiple offices or remote teams
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with endpoint management tools (Jamf, JumpCloud, etc.)
  • Understanding of IT security and compliance (SOC2, ISO 27001, FedRAMP)
  • Service mindset: empathy, responsiveness, collaboration over control
  • Excellent Hebrew and English communication skills
  • Based in Tel Aviv, Israel (headquarters-based role)
  • Comfortable balancing hands-on work with strategic thinking
  • Experience managing remote/distributed teams across timezones

Nice to have (Advantages)

  • FedRAMP or government compliance framework experience
  • Automation tools (n8n, Zapier, Python/Bash scripting)
  • ITSM platforms (Jira Service Management, Zendesk)
  • Identity and access management (Okta, JumpCloud)
  • High-tech or SaaS company background
  • ITIL, CompTIA, or similar certifications

Why join Port?

  • Work directly with CIO on strategic IT initiatives
  • Shape IT operations for a fast-growing, well-funded SaaS company
  • Hybrid work environment in Tel Aviv
  • Developer-friendly culture, cutting-edge tools
  • Direct impact on employee experience
  • Collaborative, values-driven team
