THE ROLE

We are hiring a Head of New Bank Partnerships to join our growing team as a critical hire in our ongoing efforts to work with the very best banks in the United States. You will lead the expansion of our new bank partnerships, in line with our deep commitment to supporting banks. You will be responsible for identifying potential new bank partners, assessing their fit with Unit, and nurturing relationships that align with our values and goals. You will report to the Chief of Staff.

The position ideally would be based in New York. We are open to exploring remote work with outstanding candidates.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Identify and evaluate potential bank partners that align with our strategic goals.

  • Build and and maintain strong relationships with prospective partners.

  • Develop and execute new strategies to engage, evaluate, and onboard new bank partners.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams, including Compliance, Platform, Legal, and Finance to assess partnership opportunities and ensure alignment across functions.

  • Lead negotiations with potential bank partners, including structuring partnership agreements and terms that are mutually beneficial.

  • Act as a trusted advisor to prospective partners, providing insights and guidance on industry best practices, approaches to building an embedded finance line of business, and approach to compliance and oversight.

  • Travel to potential partners when needed and represent Unit at relevant industry events, conferences, and networking opportunities.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Proven track record of 10+ years in business development, partnership management, or related roles within the banking or fintech industry.

  • Deep understanding of the bank and fintech ecosystem, including knowledge of banking products, services, regulations, and market dynamics.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly digest complex and technical topics.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with senior executives and key stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Strategic, “closing” mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

COMPENSATION

The base salary for this role is expected to be $170,000 - $210,000 per year. In addition to generous benefits, this role is eligible for equity and/or performance-based variable compensation. The final offer will be decided by factors including experience level, expertise, and location.
