We are seeking a remote mortgage underwriter who specializes in underwriting DSCR loans. We are not a consumer lender.

About the job – Underwriter

We are disrupting the FinTech and PropTech sectors by helping non-US residents invest in US property digitally. We are streamlining heavy manual processes such as underwriting, banking, mortgages, and asset management into one, simple-to-use place.

We have already processed large transactions, have our internal LOS system, amazing vendors and securitization partners. We are looking for a detail-oriented Mortgage Underwriter.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with Sales, the Client, Appraisers, Inspectors, Title companies, Secondary market players and Leadership on the progress of files.
• Reviewing collateral, source of funds, rental history, entity documents, title commitments, loan terms, investor guidelines etc.
• Audit all documents required for each transaction to ensure accuracy.
• Submit digital documentation into secondary market platforms for third party review.
• Coordinate and submit conditions requested from secondary market vendors.
• Maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems.
• Prepare real estate documentation using templates for the purchase or sale of single-family properties.
• Reviewing HOA questionnaires and articles & bylaws.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience as a mortgage underwriter is a must.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• The ability to express complex ideas in a clear, easy-to-understand manner, while being detail oriented.
• Laser focused on making sure the correct process is followed every single time with no short cuts.
• Being service-oriented, with the urgency to help our clients and investors in a professional, capable manner.
• Strong ability to work under pressure and to juggle multiple threads at once without sacrificing accuracy.
• Familiarity working with CRM systems and document editing/signing software.
• Additional licenses and certificates in the real estate domain is a plus.
• Proficiency in languages other than English - advantage.
• Foreign national underwriting experience is a plus.
