What is the role?

As a full-stack engineer, you will be in charge of developing great new features that help mayors and other city leaders understand their citizens and their city in more effective ways, improving the lives of millions of citizens around the world. This includes working on all product components, from data integration and server-side algorithmic work to front end implementation, including NodeJS and React development. This is a hybrid role who will join our team in our Metro Vancouver office.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy new features and enhancements for our AI-driven platform
• Participate in code reviews, provide constructive feedback, and guide other team members
• Optimize and maintain existing codebase, ensuring high performance and scalability
• Contribute to architectural decisions and improve development processes
• Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and emerging technologies, integrating them into your work where applicable

Requirements

• At least 5 years of experience with full-stack web development
• 3+ years of experience working with React & Node, preferably also with TypeScript
• Solid understanding of RESTful web services
• Solid understanding of cloud services, in particular AWS services
• Familiarity with containers and Kubernetes
• Experience with Agile development process and automated testing
• Ability to come to our Metro Vancouver office at least once a week
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, delivery-driven environment
• A passion for problem-solving, reading and learning, and, of course, building great software
• Great interpersonal skills

• Ability to collaborate with a variety of teams: product, design and occasionally go-to-market teams

It’s even better if you have:

• Designed and built a POC or product/service from the ground up or architected a product/service in your current or previous roles
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
• Experience working with local government
