We’re looking for an exceptional Senior Backend Engineer to join our core engineering team at an early stage and help define the technical foundation of our platform. In this role, you’ll design, build, and operate the backend systems that power our product, from APIs and data models to cloud services, infrastructure, and production reliability.

This is a high-impact role with significant influence over architecture, backend engineering standards, and the scalability of our platform.

What You’ll Do

• Design, build, and own backend systems that support our production-grade platform
• Lead technical design for complex backend features, APIs, data flows, and cloud services
• Make and drive architecture and technology decisions that scale with the business
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and data teams to turn ambiguous requirements into robust backend systems
• Own backend services in production, including deployment, monitoring, performance tuning, and reliability
• Design scalable APIs, data models, and integrations with cloud infrastructure and third-party systems
• Set and uphold high standards for code quality, security, maintainability, and system reliability
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship as the team grows

What We’re Looking For

We work with a modern backend stack including Python, FastAPI, AWS, PostgreSQL, and cloud-native services. You don’t need to be an expert in every part of the stack, but you should have strong backend experience and be comfortable designing, building, and operating production systems.

Specifically, we’re looking for candidates who have:

• At least 4 years of proven experience building and operating backend systems in production
• Strong experience with Python or comparable programming languages
• Expertise in modern backend frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, or similar
• Hands-on experience designing and operating cloud-native systems on AWS
• Proficiency in relational databases, especially PostgreSQL
• Familiarity with non-relational databases and event-driven architectures
• Proven ability to design APIs, data models, distributed systems, and scalable service architectures
• Strong understanding of performance, security, observability, and reliability best practices
• Comfortable taking ownership and making technical decisions in a fast-paced environment

Nice to Have

• Experience building core platform systems
• Experience with data-intensive products, cloud infrastructure, or ML-driven platforms
• Experience with Kubernetes, ECS/Fargate, Lambda, EventBridge, DynamoDB, or similar AWS services
